Fifa appear to have come up with a solution on how to handle the matter of player contracts should the Absa Premiership and other leagues around the world continue past June 30.

Most player contracts run from July 1-June 30, and with the threat of the coronavirus pandemic pushing them beyond that in 2020, it opens up a conundrum for clubs and players alike.

The biggest local example is that of George Maluleka, who is currently at Absa Premiership leaders Kaizer Chiefs, but is due to join rivals Mamelodi Sundowns on July 1.

If the PSL is still running over that period, it seems inconceivable that the former Bafana Bafana midfielder could make the switch mid-title race.
