Victor Osimhen’s imminent transfer to is done deal, according to Lille official, Marc Ingla.

Ingla told the French media in a press conference today that the club is in advance discussion with the Italian side, despite receiving offers for the player from other clubs.

Osimhen was tipped to the Gennaro Gattuso’s after traveling to Naples to meet with the Club’s president Aurelio Di Laurentiis last week.

However, the deal appeared to be stalled after the reports revealed the player was pressurized into accepting the deal.

The transfer took another twist on Wednesday after sources closed to the player revealed he has decided to employ another agent in order to get the deal over the line.

“I think we are in the last stage of the transfer of Osimhen, even if there is interest from other clubs. The player has made his choice and we are in the last step of the transfer,” Ingla told a news conference on Thursday.

“It is a regret to see him leave but it is the market. It makes sense for all but one French club. It is not only a question of transfer price but also of salary (…) He only stayed one year but that’s life.”

Osimhen scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 38 league appearances for Lille in the 2019/20 campaign and he’s expected to become the new African most expensive player.
