Super Eagles and Udinese defender William Troost-Ekong is edging closer to a move to the English Championship with Watford. The center half is few details away from joining the Italian Serie A Udinese side and he has said goodbye to his teammates and fans on the club on Monday.

The Observer reported that Ekong is a prime target for Udinese and they see as one of the players who can lead them back to the premier league.

“I know him as a quality player and he will be one of the players who will help us in the future if he will come if he will join us.” Watford manager Vladimir Ivic said ahead of the move.

The 27-year-old will be returning to England years after playing for Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur at the youth level.
