Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen says he is back in the squad for Friday’s African cup of Nations qualifiers cracker against Sierra Leone.
Osimhen is making a return into the national team after missing last month’s friendly matches against Algeria and Tunisia.
While speaking to Super Eagles media channel, Osimhen said he’s glad to return after such a long time and hopes the team makes Nigeria proud come Friday.
“Good feelings to be back in the squad after a long time and I think the boys are ready to go on Friday. Nothing but victory. But to be realistic the game won’t be easy, so we have to prepare well, which we have been doing and it’s also good for me to be back and we’ll give our best,” he said.
The SSC Napoli striker is currently the leading goalscorer in the qualifiers with four goals from two matches and will be carrying the goal burden on his shoulders once more on Friday.
The 21 year-old however said, he’s not desperate to increase his tally and will rather see the team succeed.
“For me, my goals will come but the teams victory comes first over personal ambition, I just just want to help the team and I’m looking forward to the game on Friday,” He concluded.
