There are strong indications that Odion Jude Ighalo could start his first UEFA Champions League match for Manchester United on Tuesday.

Manchester United are currently in Germany for their last Group game against RB Leipzig, but Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer disclosed that striker Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani are ruled out the game.

Injury to Cavani and Martial means Ighalo remains the only striker in the rank, apart from Marcus Rashford who could be deployed to the left side of the midfield.

Ighalo only made his debut in the competition last week after coming on as substitute in the defeat to Paris Saint-Germain at Old Trafford.

The on loan Shanghai Shenhua of China striker replaced Aaron Wan Bisaaka but he could do nothing to prevent United from going down to Neymar’s brilliance.

“The players are here, they are Man United players, because they have qualities that we’ve looked for and I’m sure that tomorrow night will prove that’s the reason why they’re here, they will show it.

“I think the character of the group is getting better and better and we’re looking forward to the game. It’s something that we want, games like this. It’s a tradition for Man United – we never make it easy for ourselves,” Solskjaer said in news conference on Monday.

Manchester United need just a point to seal their passage to the next round, but a win and a draw for Paris Saint-Germain will send the three-time winners to the top of Group H.
