Former Nigeria and Real Sociedad Midfielder Mutiu Adepoju has congratulated Samuel Chukwueze after becoming the youngest player to reach a century of games for Villarreal.

Chukwueze made his 100th first-team appearance for Villarreal in their 4-1 Copa Del Rey win over Zamora CF on Tuesday.

The winger surpassed the record set by Mateo Musacchio, who reached a century for the team aged 21-years, 11 months and 20 days.

“Dear @chukwueze_8, becoming @Eng_Villarreal youngest centurion ever is a very beautiful accomplishment from you. Well-done on this and I hope this unlocks other hidden potentials in you. Wishing you greater successes ahead.” Adepoju wrote on Twitter.

Since his debut for the Yellow Submarine in 2018, the Nigerian has 79 in La Liga matches, 13 in the Europa League and eight in Copa del Rey.

The Nigerian international also played 24 league matches for the Villarreal B before his promotion to the first team.
