Onuachu will be hoping to beat off a challenge from Club Brugges’s Dutchman Noa Lang and Beerschot’s forward Raphael Holzhauser for the award.
The Nigerian striker has been involved in thirty-eight goals (33 goals and 5 assists) in all competitions for Genk this season, while Noa Lang scored sixteen goals, providing seven assists in twenty-nine games for Brugges.
Onuachu joined the Belgian club in 2019 from Danish giants Midtjylland in a 7 million Euros deal and he has been linked with a move this summer.
