Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were on parade for Leicester City in their pre season game with Spanish Laliga Santander giants Villarreal FC on Wednesday.
While Ndidi was given another starting role by coach Brendan Rodgers, Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench in the second half of the game.
The Super Eagles stars did help their team to a hard fought 3-2 victory against Villarreal, who failed to parade Samuel Chukwueze at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester City opened scoring when Caglar Soyuncu headed in a free kick taken by Fofana in the 40th minute.
England’s winger Harvey Barnes doubled the lead in the 42nd minutes to end the first half 2-0.
Ayoze Perez added the third in the 51st minutes, before Daniel Amartey, Filip Benković, Marc Albrighton, Dennis Praet, Luke Thomas and Kelechi Iheanacho also joined the action.
Iheanacho almost made it four for the home side shortly after arriving on the pitch, heading inches wide at the far post, from Albrighton’s corner with 75 minutes on the clock.
Fer Nino scored a goal back for Villarreal in the 76th minutes before Alejandro Millan hit the second in the 83rd minutes to end the match 3-2.
The Foxes, who won the FA Cup last season, play Premier League champions Manchester City in the Community Shield on Saturday, before they open their league campaign at home to Wolves on August 14.
