Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi says he is fully ready to fight for his place in Everton’s squad.

Iwobi spoke to Everton’s website ahead of their Saturday’s Premier League game against Aston Villa.

Iwobi, has been enjoying playing time since Rafael Benitez arrived at the Club, but he’s not a regular name in the starting 11.

The forward played in wing back position last season but Benitez has put him in advance role, and he’s working hard to repay the manager with goals.

“He (Benitez) said to me that I’m an attacker and attackers really get noticed for their goals and assists, so he’s been working with me on getting into the box more, trying to get into spaces where I can get an assist or get a goal,”Iwobi told the club’s website.

“As I say, he demands a lot on me – but I’m willing to put the work in to better myself and the team.

“It’s been going really well so far. He’s put a lot of faith and trust in me and, as a player, that’s what you need.

“It’s not just me – the other players, even the other players in my position competing for the same places – feel the same. We’re all enjoying it.”

Everton unbeaten so far in the Premier League this season and they will be hoping to continue to the good form when they face Aston Villa this weekend.
