Attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi said scoring the goal that qualified Nigeria to the 2018 World Cup remains his memorable moment in the color of the Super Eagles.

Iwobi made his debut for Nigeria in a friendly game against DR Congo in Visé, Belgium in October 2015.

The Everton forward has featured in 48 competitive matches for the three-time African Champions and scoring 7 goals in the process.

The former Arsenal star also started Super Eagles’ first 2018 FIFA World Cup game against Croatia and helped the country to win Bronze medal at the 2019 African Cup of Nations twelve months later.

Reflecting on his National team career, Iwobi said has special moments with the National Team, but scoring the decisive goal that sent Nigeria to the World Cup stood out.

“Scoring that goal against Zambia in Uyo was special , that moment stood out for me, because the goal qualified Nigeria for the World Cup.

“It’s my best moment in the color of the Super Eagles” Iwobi told William Ekong YouTube channel.

Iwobi is expected to be in action for Nigeria against the Central African Republic in their double-header FIFA World Cup qualifying game later this month.
