Villareal boss Unai Emery says Samuel Chukwueze is still far from his best, few weeks after returning from injury.

Chukwueze returned to action late October after missing at least five months due to injury he suffered in May.

He has featured in four matches since his return and scored one goal in the process.

His latest appearance came in 2-0 defeat against Valencia at the Mestella on Saturday and Emery said the injury has taken a bit of the progress he should have made.

“Those are positive things we found in the game. For Samu to return after the important injury. In Bilbao it cost him a little more and now he has had more minutes. We are finding Samu’s qualities “He said.

Meanwhile, Chukwueze has been included in Nigeria’s squad for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde.
