The Blue Sharks held the Super Eagles to a 1-1 draw at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, but it wasn’t enough to guarantee them a playoff place of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The draw means, the Super Eagles are through to the next round, while Cape Verde missed out by just two points.
Reacting to the well-contested encounter, Osimhen stated that he’s delighted to see the Eagles advance to the next stage, and gave kudos to Cape Verde for giving them a good game.
“Strong character from the boys, respect to the Cape Verdean team. Unto the playoffs now @NGSuperEagles” he posted on Twitter.
Osimhen ended the Group phase with four goals from six games.
