Barcelona have made steady progress under Xavi but required a stoppage time equaliser to draw 2-2 with local rivals Espanyol on Sunday night.

While Barcelona are battling for a place in the top four in Spain, Napoli have title aspirations in Italy. They held Inter to a 1-1 draw in the league at the weekend and are two points off first.

Barcelona finished third in their Champions League group to drop down to the Europa League but are in a better place now compared to then.

Napoli have recently beaten AC Milan away from home and held Juventus to a draw in Turin so there is no reason why they can’t get a positive result on Thursday.

Barcelona have only won three of their last eight home matches in all competitions, though that run starts before Xavi took charge.
