Real Madrid were superb in the first leg at Stamford Bridge, as a Karim Benzema-inspired performance saw Los Blancos return to Madrid 3-1 winners. The La Liga side have now won eight of their last nine competitive matches, with a 4-0 Clasico loss the only mark on the record book.

Chelsea responded to their loss to Real Madrid with a resounding 6-0 win at Southampton on Saturday. That victory ended a run of back-to-back defeats and they have now won eight of their last nine matches away from Stamford Bridge, their Carabao Cup final loss to Liverpool at Wembley the only defeat in that run.

The Blues looked to have their swagger back on the south coast, but Real Madrid should see out their quarter-final tie and book a place in the next round of the Champions League on Tuesday night.
