Iwobi missing as Everton secure first league win at Arsenal since 1996

Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi was missing in action as Everton recorded their first win over his former employer Arsenal, since 1996.

Iwobi made the trip with the squad to the match but was he was an unused substitute as coach Carlo Ancelotti welcome Dominic Calvert-Lewin back starting line up.

A Bernd Leno’s own goal was all the Toffees needed to earn the maximum three points against the poor Mikel Arteta’s side.

The German goalkeeper watched as Richarlison’s cross flashed through the Arsenal goalkeeper’s legs with 14 minutes remaining.

The victory saw Everton established six points gap ahead of Arsenal, despite playing a game less.

The Toffees are 8th on the standing with 52 points, while the Gunner is 9th with 49 points from 33 matches.

Arsenal has now lost 13 matches in the Premier League this season, not since 1994-95 (17) have they been defeated more times in a single league campaign.
